Rockstar Games has officially confirmed when players will be able to begin pre-loading Grand Theft Auto VI.
Digital pre-orders of GTA VI will be available to preload beginning November 12, 2026, one week before the game’s official release on November 19.
PRELOAD BEGINS NOVEMBER 12
Players who pre-order a digital version of Grand Theft Auto VI will be able to begin downloading the game on November 12.
Rockstar says the preload period is designed to ensure players can be ready to play when GTA VI officially launches.
The seven-day window provides additional time for players to download the game before release.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.

Rockstar has taken an unusual approach with the physical edition of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Physical versions will become available beginning November 12 to support the same preload period.
However, the box does not contain a traditional game disc.
Instead, the physical edition includes a download code inside the package.
Players can redeem that code and begin downloading GTA VI ahead of release.
NO DISC IN THE BOX
Rockstar’s official store explicitly states that a disc will not be included with the physical version.
The physical product is therefore best understood as a boxed code-in-box edition rather than a traditional disc release.
