Rockstar Games has published an official breakdown of the platforms, editions and versions available for Grand Theft Auto VI.
The support update provides a clear overview of how players can purchase GTA VI, what editions are available and how upgrades work.
Here is everything Rockstar has officially confirmed.
CONFIRMED GTA VI PLATFORMS
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently available to pre-order for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
These are the two officially confirmed launch platform families.
Rockstar’s main GTA VI website also lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside the current November 19, 2026 release date.
PC VERSION
Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI at this time.
The official platform information currently lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Any PC release date or timing circulating elsewhere should therefore be treated as unconfirmed unless Rockstar Games makes an official announcement.
STANDARD EDITION
Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard Edition includes the base game.
It is the core version for players who want the complete main GTA VI experience without purchasing the premium Ultimate Edition package.
Standard Edition owners are not permanently locked out of the Ultimate Edition content.
Rockstar confirms that an Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be purchased separately later.
ULTIMATE EDITION
Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition includes the base game together with an exclusive collection of additional content integrated throughout Jason and Lucia’s story.
The Ultimate Edition includes premium vehicles, weapons, personalized weapon variants, Vice City styles, businesses, customization locations and other in-game content.
Among the officially listed items are the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store and additional vehicles and locations.
ULTIMATE EDITION UPGRADE
Players who purchase the Standard Edition can later buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately.
Rockstar confirms that this upgrade remains available to Standard Edition owners at any time.
Physical version buyers can also upgrade after redeeming the digital download code included with their boxed copy.
This means players do not necessarily need to purchase the Ultimate Edition from the beginning in order to access its additional content later.
DIGITAL VERSIONS
Both the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition are available digitally.
Qualifying digital pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 also include the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Digital pre-orders additionally include one free month of GTA+ where eligible.
Players who pre-order digitally can begin pre-loading GTA VI on November 12 at local midnight.
PHYSICAL VERSION
Grand Theft Auto VI is also available as a physical boxed product.
However, Rockstar has confirmed that the physical version is code-in-box.
A traditional game disc is not included.
Instead, the box contains a digital download code.
Physical versions become available beginning November 12, allowing buyers to redeem their code and begin pre-loading before launch.
STANDARD VS ULTIMATE
For players deciding between the two editions, the difference is straightforward.
Standard Edition includes the core Grand Theft Auto VI game.
Ultimate Edition includes the base game plus Rockstar’s premium collection of additional vehicles, weapons, apparel, businesses, customization options and other content.
Players who begin with Standard can upgrade later.
VINTAGE VICE CITY PACK
The Vintage Vice City Pack is a separate promotional bonus rather than something exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.
Qualifying purchases made before November 20, 2026 can receive the pack.
It includes the ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
DIGITAL GTA+ BONUS
Qualifying digital pre-orders also receive a free month of GTA+.
This bonus is connected to digital pre-order eligibility and should not be confused with the Ultimate Edition itself.
PRELOAD AND RELEASE
Digital pre-orders can begin pre-loading Grand Theft Auto VI on November 12, 2026 at local midnight.
Physical code-in-box versions also become available beginning November 12.
Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
WHAT ROCKSTAR HAS NOT ANNOUNCED
Rockstar has not currently announced a PC release.
The company has also not announced PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions.
Players should therefore rely on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the currently confirmed GTA VI platforms.
