Rockstar Games has officially announced the start date for Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders.
On June 18, 2026, Rockstar confirmed that players would be able to pre-order GTA VI beginning on June 25.
The announcement marked another major step in the game’s road toward its November 19, 2026 release.
PRE-ORDERS BEGIN JUNE 25
Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders would officially begin on June 25, 2026.
The announcement arrived approximately five months before the scheduled launch of the game.
At the time of the initial announcement, Rockstar had not yet published the full breakdown of every edition and pre-order bonus.
Those details would follow in a dedicated Newswire update shortly before pre-orders opened.
A NEW PHASE OF THE GTA VI LAUNCH
The beginning of pre-orders represents an important transition in GTA VI’s release campaign.
After years of trailers, screenshots, character reveals and location details, Rockstar was now moving into the commercial launch phase for the game.
Players would soon be able to select their preferred edition and secure their copy ahead of release.
NOVEMBER 19, 2026 RELEASE DATE
Grand Theft Auto VI remains officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
Rockstar had previously moved the release from May 26, 2026 to November 19, giving the development team additional time to finish the game at the level of polish expected from the studio.
The pre-order announcement reinforced Rockstar’s current launch schedule.
PLAYSTATION 5 AND XBOX SERIES X|S
Grand Theft Auto VI is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
These remained the confirmed launch platforms when pre-orders were announced.
Rockstar had not announced a PC version as part of the pre-order announcement.
MORE PRE-ORDER DETAILS TO COME
The June 18 announcement focused primarily on the pre-order start date.
Rockstar would later publish a much more detailed breakdown covering the available editions, bonuses, preload timing and other purchase information.
That follow-up announcement would confirm the Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition and the Vintage Vice City Pack.
It would also provide additional details about digital pre-orders and launch preparation.
THE COUNTDOWN TO GTA VI CONTINUES
With pre-orders officially scheduled, GTA VI entered another major stage of its launch timeline.
From its first official development confirmation in 2022 to Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the expanded Leonida reveal, Rockstar had gradually moved the game closer to release.
June 25, 2026 would now become the date players could officially reserve Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its November launch.
